I completely understand why people would mistakenly see me as a narcissist. We're all so jaded and traumatized by our life experiences that it's difficult to see the present moment with fresh eyes untainted by the scars of our past. Instead of seeing what's right in front of us, we see recycled versions of our past distorting the reality with bias and prejudice.

Ego transcendence is a rare accomplishment, and most people are not equipped to identify it, and therefore they misinterpret what they see. Living in ego is living in a hall of mirrors. It's a 360 degree mirror. We see ourselves reflected back to us in everyone and everything. People see their own narcissism in me instead of seeing me for what I truly am.

In order to see reality clearly, we must discard everything we think we know and greet each moment like a child discovering the world for the first time. Otherwise we're trapped in a vicious repeating cycle of past experience that blinds us from seeing the present moment. Release your shackles. Release your attachments to everything, and I mean everything. Forget everything you think you know, and be here now. See reality as it is, not as you want it to be.

If you pretend to be better than you are, then you rot in the fermentation of your own self reflections lying to yourself everyday that you're already beautiful and accomplished because you're too ashamed to admit that you are hiding your imperfections. See yourself as you are. Stop judging yourself. Wake up. Grow up. Love yourself. Have gratitude for both your strengths and weaknesses, and take proactive steps to better yourself instead of pretending like you're already there so that you don't feel so bad about your own mediocrity.

The difference between frustration and confusion is that when we're frustrated, we think reality is supposed to be something other than what it is. We try to force it to fit our delusional preconceptions. When we have no expectations, we greet each moment with the novelty it deserves. Then and only then are we able to learn. If you don't open your mind, if you remain stagnant in a stinking bog of how you think the world is supposed to be, then you isolate yourself in a prison of your own making. Your mind shrinks. You stop learning. You get stupider by the day.

We get lost in a maze of rationalization. In order to avoid this delusional psychosis, I like to anchor everything with time-space coordinates. This makes it real and averts wishful thinking and sloppy thinking. This is why I like to use people's names and tell stories. It's the best way to learn while staying grounded and not getting lost in generalizations that take us further and further from the truth. We must strive to ground ourselves over and over again.
